I run customs pretty simply.
My formula is this.... Cost of Materials + Yardage Knit + Shipping
If you want to provide the yarn, then it's just the knitting cost and shipping back to you.
I charge per yard knit. I can give you an estimate upfront, but I weigh all yarn and calculate yardage per gram used.

Simple knits (garter, stockinette, stripes, ribbing, etc) are 22 cents/yard

More complex/time consuming patterns (simple lace/brioche/colorwork) are 26 cents/yard

If there is something more detailed, stuffed creatures that require a lot of seaming and sculpting, or if you want fine lace/complex colorwork, then we can discuss pricing for that particular project. typically, these will be around 30 cents/yard, but this varies based on complexity and size.

I need all the information. I will ask a lot of questions so that your finished product is exactly what you had in mind.

If it is a sample, I will need to know the yarn/gauge/pattern/timeline/size.

If it is a custom knit, I will need to know fiber/color/sizing/timeline/pattern or inspiration.

For custom knits:
Once we finish sorting out the yarn/pattern you want, I will invoice for materials only. When that's paid, I will order and get to work.
I will send final photos along with the invoice for knitting and shipping cost back to you.
For a sample, You can send me the yarn, pattern, and tracking number so I know to look out for your materials, then I'll get to work. I don't invoice until finished photos are sent and approved.
